The Nordkapp in Norway is a magical destination through amazing scenery. Its a special place as it's the most northerly place in Europe reachable by road. It's been on my mind for a long time to do this trip and I have already ridden to many places. Previous trips have included Imola (WSB round when Colin Edwards triumphed, Krakow, the Alps, the Vosage mountains, the Baltic States and of course the usual blasts through German, France, Holland etc. In 2004, we did the Arctic Circle going up through Sweden and back down the Norwegian coast. That was a great trip and fired the imagination regarding going all the way to the top. It's got to be done.

Of course, skiing would be great too and there's nothing wrong with a nice beach holiday but riding to the Nordkapp is irresistible........

Thats what I like about you Ian, always up for a challenge and not easily put off. This would have been right up Peter Stockhills street. I guess in many ways he will be with you guys when you go.
ReplyDeleteChoice of motorcycle? Well what ever you go for it better be reliable, cos I dont think the AA go to northern Norway.LOL
H Jules. Thanks. Peter would have be great fun and most welcome but sadly he took that last great ride. When we get there we will have a beer in memory.

Hey. The story has been featured in MCN over two weeks. A good read. The bikes did well. Border crossing were interesting and reminded me of our challenges crossing from Lithuania to Latvia and then Latvia to Finland. It all adds to the adventure.
